Uisce Éireann will resume works on Main Street in Silvermines on Monday, 19 October, as part of its National Leakage Reduction Programme.
The project involves replacing over 1.6km of aged cast iron water mains with new modern pipes, helping to provide a more reliable water supply, reduce leakage and improve water quality.
The upgrades will also include installing new water service connections from the public water main to customers’ property boundaries and connecting these to customers’ water supplies. The project is being delivered by Shareridge on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
Areas of work will be limited to short sections to minimise disruption. Traffic management may be in place, with local and emergency access maintained. Where planned interruptions to the water supply are required, customers will receive a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.
Uisce Éireann thanks the community in Silvermines for their patience and cooperation while these important works are carried out.
Yours sincerely,
